Mission Statement
Global Addiction aims to create an invaluable conference and internet portal for the dissemination of knowledge relating to the understanding and treatment of all addictions.
Global Addiction aims to help improve the understanding and treatment of all addictions throughout the world through the sharing of knowledge.
Global Addiction aims to be an open and friendly organisation purely involved in medical education and the dissemination of knowledge.
Global Addiction aims to represent the intersection of Policy, Academia and Clinical Practice. Through shared experience, discussion and debate, the conference can generate a voice which represents best practice in the area of treating addictions.
Over time, Global Addiction would like to initiate and run working committees on the different topics within addiction which report back each year at the conference through position statements and guidelines for treatment.
Global Addiction intends to run biennial conferences in and around Europe. During the year in between, the current objective is to develop a regional conference in South America. The first conference in South America is scheduled for Rio in October 2014.
