Travelling from the airport
By Bus - there are several bus services to and from the airport, including 2 shuttle services to the city centre (for more information see www.carris.pt ):

Aerobus (CARRIS Nº91) - runs between Lisbon Airport and the city centre every 20 minutes between 07:45 am and 08:15 pm. Tickets may be purchased from the driver as you board the bus. Ticket for all-day travel: 3,50€
- Aeroshuttle (CARRIS Nº96) – runs every 30 minutes between 07.00 am and 23.00 pm connecting Gare Oriente - Airport - Entrecampos - Sete Rios - Praça de Espanha. Tickets (3,50€) can be purchased onboard and also at the Tourist Office in the arrivals hall.
Travelling around Lisbon
The Conference Centre is in the Universidad Catolica (Catholic University) complex which is situated on Palma de Cima in between two Metro stations - Jardim Zoologico and Laranjeiras.
If arriving by Taxi - you can also use the entrance on the Rua Azevedo Neves, opposite the Marriott Hotel.

Climate
Lisbon has a temperate climate and the average temperature in September is around 26º Celsius / 79º Farenheit.
Local Time
Portugal is 1 hour ahead of European Standard Time (C.E.T. + 1) which makes it the same as the United Kingdom all year round, as Portugal also practises Daylight Saving.
Language
The official language is Portuguese. English and French are widely spoken.
Currency
The official currency of Portugal is the Euro € and 100 centimos = 1 Euro.
Major credit cards are accepted in most hotels, shops and restaurants. Multibanco automatic teller machines are also widely available and connected to international networks. Travellers cheques and cash can be exchanged at hotels or banks. Banking hours are Monday to Friday from 08.30 to 15.00.

Shopping
Opening Hours are 09.00 -13.00 and 15.00 - 19.00 Monday to Friday, and 09.00 – 13.00 on Saturdays. In large shopping malls and major town centres, shops are open on Sundays and until late at night.
